Job Description

  • The Poultry Support Specialist is a key contributor to the organization's mission of developing and optimizing poultry products, supporting the sales team, and providing expert technical assistance to customers and farmers.
  • This role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a customer-centric approach to drive business growth and product excellence in the poultry sector.

General Function

  • The Poultry Support Specialist plays a pivotal role in providing essential support to the Technical Director.
  • This role involves offering technical assistance to customers, the sales team, and the marketing team. Additionally, the Poultry Support Specialist will actively participate in market development for the new product portfolio, monitor product performance, and address customer complaints promptly.
  • This position also includes farm support services related to poultry management and engagement with government regulatory agencies.

Missions & Activities:

  • Business Development and Profit Optimization for Poultry Products:
  • Conduct direct technical actions, including trials, competitive evaluations, technical tool usage, and preparation of technical trial reports.
  • Support the sales team in the field to drive sales of poultry products.
  • Enhance customer lifetime value by monitoring product performance, gathering customer feedback, and suggesting solutions to complaints.
  • Contribute to market development efforts for poultry products across the country through a technical approach.
  • Address and resolve product complaints related to quality, packaging, and presentation.
  • Develop sales and marketing plans for campaigns and outreach initiatives, including participation in industry events and organizing seminars for farmers.
  • Collaborate with poultry distributors to expand partners and distributors nationwide for effective market coverage.
  • Create poultry marketing communication materials in conjunction with the sales and marketing team.

Support Technical Director in Portfolio Development and Optimization:

  • Participate in defining premix specifications and optimizing formulas for various poultry species and customer profiles.
  • Monitor product inventory and advise on product importation regarding type and volume.
  • Ensure product quality status and implement a "first in, first out" policy.
  • Analyze existing market tools to anticipate needs and propose innovative solutions.
  • Stay updated on the evolution of industry supports.
  • Support technical projects such as poultry symposiums, posters, technical presentations, and analyze results, and report findings.
  • Assist in obtaining product and government-related registrations (e.g., NAFDAC, SON, NIAS).

Provide Livestock Veterinary/Technical Expertise:

  • Disseminate information and provide ongoing training to department members.
  • Develop and deliver training to clients on best management practices in poultry farming.
  • Define the nature and objectives of economic and technical audits for farmers.
  • Conduct technical audits of customers and farmers.
  • Conduct joint visits with ADM sales representatives to monitor product performance and evaluate farms.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of modern technology and digitalization, aligning with the organization's strategy for efficient information delivery.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Analytical, fact-based, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Fluent in English.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science / Veterinary Medicine.
  • Experience in farm management and disease control for various poultry species.
  • Strong background in the technical applications of feedstuff.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience as a sales support/technical representative.
  • Experience in the analysis of supply and demand of agricultural products is a plus.
