Key Responsibilities
As Provost, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership for developing and implementing academic programs aligned with institutional mission
- Drive excellence in teaching, researchand clinical education
- Lead faculty recruitment, retention, mentorshipand development
- Ensure program alignment with regulatory bodies and institutional priorities
- Oversee accreditation, compliance and quality assurance processes
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and partnership development
- Enhance student engagement, performance, and retention
- Represent the institution professionally at external forums and build key stakeholder relationships
- Manage academic budgets and ensure resource optimization
- Champion diversity, equity, inclusion innovation across all academic units
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with a minimum Second Class Honours in Nursing
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field (from a recognized institution)
- Teaching qualification (PGDE / Diploma in Education or Nurse/Midwife Educator)
- Current Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria license
- Minimum 15 years cognate teaching/working experience, including 2 years in a managerial role
- Doctoral Degree in Nursing or related field (required)
- Strong background in academic leadership within a nursing institution
- Proven success in curriculum development, program evaluation and accreditation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and academic excellence
- Strong record of scholarly work, researchand professional contributions
- Ability to lead change, drive strategyand manage complex academic environments
