Job Title: Radiology Community Health Extension Worker

Location: Warri, Delta

Job Summary

The Radiology CHEW will support radiology and clinical services by assisting with patient preparation, basic clinical procedures, and administrative functions within the radiology unit, while ensuring patient safety and compliance with healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist radiologists and radiographers in assessing patients’ conditions prior to, during, and after radiological procedures.
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging procedures.
  • Support the radiology department in the smooth coordination of daily activities.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and general condition, reporting observations to supervising staff.
  • Ensure patient comfort, safety, and clear communication throughout procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and radiology documentation.
  • Adhere strictly to infection control, radiation safety, and departmental protocols.
  • Assist with basic clinical and non-clinical duties within the radiology unit as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as delegated by the Head of Department or Management.

Requirements

  • CHEW certification from a recognized institution.
  • Valid practicing license.
  • Previous experience in a radiology or hospital setting is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a healthcare team.
