The Management of the Federal Medical Centre, Nguru, invites applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates for the vacant position of Registrar of the College of Nursing Sciences, Federal Medical Centre, Nguru.
The position of Registrar is a key administrative role within the College, responsible for supporting effective governance, administration, and regulatory compliance in line with public service standards.
Qualification and Experience
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognized institution. Applicants must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years post-qualification relevant experience in the administrative cadre within a government establishment and must be directorate-level officers in the public service. Possession of a Master’s degree or other relevant higher qualifications will be an added advantage. Fellowship or Associate membership of the Institute of Administrators of Nigeria (IHSAN) or other relevant professional certifications is advantageous. Candidates must be ICT compliant, and prior experience working in a hospital setting will be an added advantage. All relevant supporting documents must be attached.
Responsibilities
The Registrar shall be responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day general administration of the College. The role includes ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and reporting on administrative matters to the Provost. The Registrar shall serve as Secretary to the Governing Council, Academic Board, and other statutory committees. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate records, managing student information, handling official College correspondence, coordinating student admissions and registration, overseeing examinations and grading processes, and managing general administrative functions such as staff and facilities as directed by the Provost or Governing Council.
Salary and Conditions of Service
Salary and conditions of service shall be in accordance with the Public Service Rules applicable to this category of staff.
Tenure
The Registrar shall hold office from the effective date of appointment, including any period previously served as a Director in another public service organization. The appointment is subject to the mandatory retirement age of sixty (60) years or thirty-five (35) years of service, whichever occurs first, and to the terms and conditions specified in the letter of appointment.

The Curriculum Vitae should include full name, place and date of birth, home and contact addresses, nationality, marital status, educational institutions attended with dates, work experience, extra-curricular activities, and names and addresses of three referees. One of the referees must be at directorate level. Recommendation letters from referees should be sent directly to the same address.
