Job Title: Sexual Health Nurse

Location: Ogudu, Lagos

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Minimum of 3 years working experience
• Must be under the age of 35
• Maintains the privacy and confidentiality of all clients, including their information, and acts according to Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA)
• Engage in ethical conduct and must understand and appreciate the diversity of our client/staff population and community to foster a safe and inclusive environment for all •
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), listening and teaching skills • Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively within interprofessional team
• Demonstrate strong decision making, problem solving and critical thinking skills •
• Demonstrate commitment to quality care and safety with an ability to exercise sound professional judgment, use best practice guidelines and evidence-based practice
• Computer proficiency with experience working with electronic medical records is a must
• Demonstrates autonomy, professional responsibility and accountability

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Sexual Health services that includes treatment education, and counseling to individuals at risk of sexually transmitted infections and blood borne infections
• To provide clinical advice, information, education and counselling of clients for testing, diagnosing, and treatment of a sexually transmitted infection or blood borne infection as per guidelines (e.g. chlamydia, gonorrhea, HSV, syphilis, Hepatitis C) and assist with partner notification as needed
• Experience performing speculum exams, vaginal examinations and venipuncture
• To provide pre and post-test HIV discussion and counselling
• Dispenses medications (oral, Intramuscular or intravenous) for the treatment of infection and diseases according to the sexual and reproductive health clinical practice guidelines
• Provides education and counseling about sexually transmitted infections and safer sex practices, harm reduction strategies, as well as support to persons at-risk of contracting STI's
• Provide immunizations relevant to sexual health
• Collaborates with the Health center for reporting and ordering of vaccines
• Responsible for monitoring the vaccine fridge in compliance with Vaccine Storage and Handling Guidelines
• Sterilization and cleaning of instruments used for procedure
• Provide services for any transgender and gender non-conforming clients of all ages in an appropriate, culturally safe and judgement free environment
• Provide birth control options counselling and assist physician with IUD / Implant insertions
• Develop online marketing and educational videos to attract more clients.

Salary

N60,000 - N80,000 Monthly.
