Job Title: Technical Assistant - Laboratory Services

Locations: Anambra and Taraba

Job Description

  • Technical Assistant - Laboratory Services will perform Laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data to support provision of the continuum of HIV treatment services, prepare Dried Tube Specimen (DTS) panels for IQC and EQA (Proficiency testing) to support HTS on the project.
  • He/she will carry out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analyses, preparing specimens and samples, maintaining and operating standard Laboratory equipment.
  • Also, he/she will maintain personal expertise in Clinical Laboratory practice and innovative technology and equipment, work with the project team to develop and implement quality assurance systems to improve the quality of diagnostics and facilitate treatment and monitoring of HIV and support the development of project work plans and budgets to incorporate the procurement of equipment and supplies for laboratory services.

Minimum Recruitment Standard

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences with a minimum of 1 year post national youth service experience in laboratory services and laboratory management of HIV/AIDS.
  • Certification/License to practice as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health system and NGOs and CBOs highly desirable.
