The attention of the Management of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) has been drawn to the nefarious activities of some social media fraudsters sending wrong information to members of the public on fake social media Linkedin and Facebook accounts of the hospital and its Chief Medical Director Prof. Abdullah Dasliva Yussuf with a promise of awarding contracts or appointments in the hospital most specially in the area of awards of non - existing contract for the purchase of laptops and other relevant computer hardwares.

Recently, the fraudsters have contacted many people and defrauded them huge amount of money through these fraudulent means. Members of the public must be aware of these developments; he hospital and its Chief Medical Director hereby dissociate themselves from the fraudsters and have no relationship with any of these fraudulent individuals or persons. Therefore, whosoever relates or transacts with them does so at his/her own risk. or the purpose of clarity, members of the public, in particular job seekers and esteemed contractors should note that the hospital Management abide by all laid down rules guiding employment into public offices and operates a transparent bidding process that is open to every qualified contractors as embedded in the Public Procurement Act, 2007 as amended. Therefore, members of the public are urged to ignore the misinformation by these fraudulent individuals/groups as the Management and its staff will not request from any individual r contractors to make any payment before they can be given appointments or contracts. Consequently, the hospital is already in contact with the law enforcement agencies and anti  graft bodies with a view to unraveling these cyber kingpins and bringing them to book. The general public is therefore advised to visit the hospital's website to get proper and accurate information when necessary.
