Job Title: Veterinary Diagnostician

Location: Ogere Remo, Ogun

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the health of our livestock, ensuring preventive care, timely diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, and maintaining optimal biosecurity standards across the farm.

Responsibilities

Daily Health Management:

  • Monitor the health status of birds, cattle, and goats daily.
  • Conduct routine physical checks and promptly address any health concerns.
  • Administer vaccinations, deworming, and other preventive treatments.
  • Provide recommendations on feeding, hygiene, and animal welfare practices.

Diagnosis and Treatment:

  • Examine animals to identify signs of illness or injury.
  • Perform diagnostic tests (e.g., blood work, fecal analysis, etc.).
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Carry out minor surgeries and medical procedures as necessary.

Disease Control & Biosecurity:

  • Design and implement disease prevention strategies and biosecurity protocols.
  • Train and supervise pen attendants and farm staff on best health practices.
  • Monitor for disease outbreaks and initiate appropriate control measures.

Reporting & Collaboration:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for all animals.
  • Work closely with farm management and other professionals to improve animal health outcomes.
  • Stay current with veterinary trends, new treatments, and farm health innovations.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).Additional Qualification will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 4years’ experience in a livestock farming environment.
  • Strong background in poultry (especially layers), cattle, and goat care.
  • Ability to lead, train, and supervise farm staff in health-related matters.
  • Must not be older than (35) thirty-five years
  • Male preferably.
