Job Title: Wholesale Pharmacist

Location: Surulere, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

 

Job Summary

The Wholesale Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing pharmaceutical operations within the wholesale distribution facility, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining product integrity, supervising staff, and safeguarding the legal and ethical supply of medicines to hospitals, retail pharmacies, clinics, and other authorized institutions.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory & Compliance Oversight:

  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, guidelines, and standards governing pharmaceutical wholesale operations.
  • Maintain a valid premises license and pharmacist's annual license.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, including PCN and NAFDAC, during inspections and audits.

Procurement & Supplier Management:

  • Source pharmaceutical products strictly from licensed manufacturers and authorized distributors.
  • Verify product authenticity and regulatory approvals before procurement.
  • Conduct supplier due diligence and maintain approved vendor lists.

Inventory & Stock Management:

  • Oversee proper storage conditions (temperature, humidity, ventilation).
  • Implement FEFO/FIFO stock control systems.
  • Monitor batch numbers and expiry dates.

Quality Assurance & Product Integrity:

  • Ensure all medicines are stored according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Monitor cold chain products and temperature logs.
  • Investigate product complaints and adverse reports.

Distribution & Documentation:

  • Ensure medicines are supplied only to licensed and authorized clients.
  • Review and approve sales documentation before dispatch.
  • Maintain accurate sales, batch, and distribution records.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D).
  • Current practicing license.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years post-qualification experience (wholesale or distribution experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and GDP standards.
  • Experience in inventory management systems.

Salary

N300,000 per month + License fee N800,000.
