The West African College of Physicians’ (WACP’s) mission is to improve the health of West Africans through excellence in the training of medical specialists and the provision of high-quality healthcare.

The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) has developed a close and effective partnership with the WACP over the past decade. With support from the Ecobank Foundation,the WACP and the RCP are organising a clinical course in Accra that will focus on the treatment and management of HIV, TB and malaria, as well as preparation for infectious disease outbreaks such as Ebola and new emergent diseases. Leadership skills are also a highlight of this course.

The course is open to doctors in membership training and above in any of the colleges as well as senior medical officers in the quasigovernment or security services health establishments. With facilitators drawn from both the RCP and the WACP, this 5-day training course will provide skills for effective training and supervision of trainees.

6th – 10th February, 2017 – Conference Room, GRNMA hostel, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra

A certificate of training endorsed by the RCP and the WACP will be given to qualified participants. Attendance is limited to 30 participants, and international participants are welcome. The application process opens on 9th November 2016 and closes on 9th December 2016.

Decisions on applications will be made by 31st December, 2016.

Note: limited partial funding (to support travel and accommodation) is available to support a number of applicants who live more than 100 km from Accra.
