Invitation to Attend The Association of Health Records and Information Management Practitioners of Nigeria 40th Annual Conference/Workshop GARDEN CITY 2019

 

The above named Association is the umbrella body for Health Records and Information Management Practitioners in Nigeria. Its mandates, among others are the promotion and development of Health Records and Information Management in Nigeria; ensuring compliance to standards of practice; advancement of knowledge, sharing and dissemination of relevant healthcare data and information to users at various levels of healthcare service delivery in Nigeria.

In order to fulfil these mandates, the Association, in collaboration with the Health Records Officers' Registration Board of Nigeria, a regulatory agency under the Federal Ministry of Health announces and invites her members and other interested persons as well as Corporate bodies to the 40th National Scientific Conference (NSC) and Annual General Meeting (AGM) tagged "Garden City 2019" with the Theme: 

 

Moving Health Records and Information Management Practice in Nigeria to the Next Level: — reinventing the ethos of our fundamental practice.  

 

The sub-themes are: 

i. Emerging trends, technologies and techniques in patients' data base management, what is our stake? 

ii. Health information security and biometric authentication in healthcare delivery, what role for health records and information officer? 

iii. Adherence to professional ethics, peer-review and discipline as panacea for professional growth and development. 

iv. Paradigm shift in form design and control in the health sector, the era of eHealth records management 

v. Mentorship, Professional growth and development, expectations and obligations of the mentor and the mentee. 

 

The NSC/AGM is scheduled to hold as follows: 

Date of Arrival:  -Monday 7th October, 2019 

Dates of the Scientific Sessions: -Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th October, 2019 

AGM/Students' Forum:-Thursday 10th October, 2019 

Time:-9 a.m. daily

Venue: -Auditorium, Ignatius Aguru University of Education, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Departure: -Friday 11th October 2019 

Conference Fee:- 

N25,000 only (Members/individual) 

N35,000 only (Non-Members/individual) 

N50,000 only (Corporate/3 participants) ;

N5,000 only(Students participants with ID card)

 

The Conference fee is payable either at the venue or through Association's Account No. 10 20 19 03  06, United Bank for Africa (UBA).  

 

There shall be students' Forum where elections shall be conducted for students' leadership. 

 

Target audience are the Health Records and Information Practitioners at various levels of responsibilities, Students of HIM Schools, Medical Doctors, Nurses, and other Healthcare providers as well as Stakeholders in the Healthcare industry/NGOs. 

 

We kindly request your organization to sponsor good number of our members to attend this Conference/Workshop for the advancement of their knowledge, skills and competencies. 

 

Graded points:  

Participants shall earn 15 graded points that may assist them secure the requirement for eligibility for license renewal. 

 

Fellowship Award:  

There shall be award of Fellowship at the Conference as interested and qualified members are expected to contact the Fellowship Committee Chairman for further details
