Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancies in the Hospital.

Community Medicine

Principal Comm. Health Officer

Qualifications & Requirements:

Candidate must possess a degree in Community Health from a recognised Institution plus at least nine (9) years post-qualification cognate experience.

Duties:

Assisting in preparing period reports.

Taking responsibility for ensuring efficiency of all primary and community health care programme in the area.

Initiating research programmes in respect of primary or community health care projects

Analyzing statistical and other data for primary health care planning

Assisting in reviewing and discharging cases referred to the Unit by the other health staff

Giving technician advise on the training of community health workers and development of primary health care policy

Assisting in organizing workshops, Seminars and Conferences

Initiating community health developments activities

II Senior Comm. Health Officer

Qualifications & Requirements:

Candidate must possess a degree in Community Health from a recognised Institution plus at least six (6) years or four (4) years post-qualification cognate experience respectively.

Duties:

Conducting Laboratory tests, interpreting results and referring difficult cases.

Supervising the activities of a number of subordinates.

Assisting and organise and conduct workshops and seminars for staff

Supervising and manage the record system of the primary Health Care Division.

Ensuring efficient logistic support of drug, equipment and supplies

Liaising with other relevant department and local and national organizations in the task of improving community health.

III Community Health Officer II

Qualifications & Requirements:

Candidate must possess a degree in Community Health from a recognised Institution and obtained the registration of the National Council for Community Health Practice Board.

Duties:

Co-ordinating and Supervising the activities of the Community Technician and other various members of the Primary Healeth Care Unit

Giving intensive care both in the Clinic and the Community with the use of the Standing Orders.

Taking charge of all activities in the Primary Health Care Clinic including delivery of normal pregnancies and family planning reviewing and providing treatment for patients as may be referred to the unit.

Educating the Community Health Technicians and other primary health care workers on the use of Standing Orders.

Conducting Laboratory tests, interpreting results and referring difficult cases.

Organizing and Supervizing community health education programmes.

Collecting data.

III Health Superintendent

Qualifications & Requirements

Candidates must possess Higher National Diploma (HND) in Environmental Health Science from a recognised Institution.

Duties:

Performing preventive and environmental Health duties such as:

Environmental Sanitation

Health Education

Control of communicable diseases

Port health duties

Meet and food inspection

Registering births and death

Collecting and processing health data.

Salary: CONHESS 6/1

Radiology:

Senior Medical Imaging Scientist

Qualifications & Requirements:

Candidate must possess Bachelor degree in Radiography (B. Rad.) from a recognised Institution or any other equivalent qualification registrable with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN).

Duties:

Producing radiograph of high diagnostic quality and assessing the technical excellence of radiographs and decides on further radiographs as necessary

Undertaking radionulide imaging investigations

Undertaking ultrasonographic examinations and reporting on the images produced

Finding fault of mal-functioning X-ray equipment and executing minor repairs of X-ray machines

Participating in special radiological procedures.

Supervising the activities of ancillary staff.

Taking charge of a radiographic installation in the hospital

Ensuring maintenance, servicing and safety of X-ray, ultrasonic and radionuclide scanner/gamma cameras and CT Scanners.

Documenting patient records/films

Salary: CONHESS 9/1
