Establishment of Pharmacy Techician Training Programmes in Schools/Colleges of Health Technology

ESTABLISHMENT OF PHARMACY TECHNICIAN TRAINING PROGRAMMES IN SCHOOLS/COLLEGES OF HEALTH TECHNOLOGY
The Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) is the Federal Government ParastataI established by Act 91 of 1992 and charged with the responsibility of regulating and controlling Pharmacy Training, Education and Practice in all aspects and ramifications. 
 
Section 21(1) (a) & (b) of the PCN Act (Cap Pi? LFN 2004) empowers the PCN to make rules for the training of suitable persons in Pharmaceutical methods and practice and for the supervision and regulation of the enga§ement, training and transfer of such persons. 
The attention of PCN has been drawn to the establishment of Pharmacy Technician Training Programme in Schools/Colleges of Health Technology without accreditation by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria. 
 
The general public is hereby informed that 'Graduates' from the Schools/Colleges whose Pharmacy Technician Training Programme is not accredited by PCN will not be licenced to practice by the PCN. 
 
For avoidance of doubt below is the list of twenty-six (26) Schools/Coifeges of Health Technology whose Pharmacy Technician Training Programmes are accredited by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria: 
Parents, Guardians, prospective students and the general public are advlced to be guided by this list to avoid waste of man hours and tangible resources.
