INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT POST OF MEDICAL DIRECTOR
The Expanded Management Committee of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko hereby announces the vacant position of Director, Medical Services in keeping with the provisions of the Act setting up the Polytechnic, as amended, and in exercise of its powers contained therein.
Consequently, applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position. Interested Candidates are requested to note the following information about the Polytechnic.
The Polytechnic: The Institution which is today known as Federal . Polytechnic, Oko, was approved by the Anambra State Government in 1979 as a College of Arts and Science.
In June,1980, the Institution was upgraded to a College of Arts, Science and Technology. And in 1985, an Edict of the Anambra State Government formalized the status of the College as a Polytechnic and named it Anam bra State Polytechnic, Oko.
Finally, in 1993, the State Polytechnic was taken over by the Federal Government and renamed it Federal Polytechnic.Oko, with Campuses in Atani and Ufuma,
The Polytechnic has the following objectives
i To provide full-time or part-time courses of instruction and training in Technology, Applied Science, Commerce and Management and such other field of applied learning relevant to the needs of the development of Nigeria in the area of industrial and agricultural production and distribution and for research in the development and adaptation of techniques.
ii To produce graduates who are worthy, both in character and learning, and who can use their hands as effectively
and intelligently as their heads.
The Position: The Director, Medical Services is a Management position in the Polytechnic and responsible to the Rector for the day-to-day administration and management of Health Services and facilities in the Polytechnic.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Candidates for the post of Director, Medical Services must hold:
i An MBBS or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution and must be registered with the Nigerian Medical and
Dental Council plus, at least, 15 years cognate experience. Or
ii. A Post Graduate qualification in Medicine plus, at least, 12 years cogna te experience.
iii. Candidates must be Information and Communication Technology (ICT) compliant and must command respect and be able to carry colleagues along.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Conditions of Service are as applicable in all other Federal Polytechnics.
SALARY: CONTEDISS 15
