The ECG Certificate Course is designed to advance the skills, knowledge and competencies of healthcare professionals who routinely perform electrocardiograms (ECGs) in their workplace.
After completing this course you should be able to describe the electrical conduction system of the heart, know the significance of waves, rhythms and artifacts, understand ECG performance and readings, the impacts of medications, different types of tests and how to identify abnormalities.
Course Description
Course structure: 7 modules with multiple lessons within each module. Each lesson has a 5 or 6 question quizzes at its conclusion. Quizzes can be taken up to 4 times. The final Assessment is 100 multiple-choice questions. The final assessment can only be taken once.
Eligibility
To participate in Medicalworld Nigeria's ECG Certificate Course, participants should have a basic working knowledge of electrocardiograms (ECGs) and perform ECGs in an employer setting.
This course is designed for medical doctors and other healthcare professionals such as nurses.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

Describe the electrical conduction system of the heart.
Recognize and explain the significance of waves, rhythms and artifacts produced by the 12-lead ECG.
Name the standard 12 leads and describe what area of the heart each lead represents.
Describe how to operate and maintain electrocardiogram equipment.
Describe how to perform a single-channel or multichannel electrocardiograph.
Describe what causes each type of artifact and how each can be eliminated.
Read ECGs using a standard procedure.
Describe how medications and electrolyte disturbances can cause changes to an ECG.
Identify the different types of abnormalities that can be determined from an ECG.
