Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international, private, non-governmental, non-profit humanitarian organization. Our organization offers assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters, to victims of armed conflict, without discrimination irrespective of race, religion, creed or political affiliation. We have been working in Nigeria since February 1996. A Memorandum of Understanding between Medecins Sans Frontieres and the Federal Government of Nigeria facilitates this. We are at present co-operating with the Federal Ministry of Health, State and Local Government departments of health on various health projects.

Job title: - Pharmacy Technician
Duty Station - Sokoto - NOMA PROJECT
Main objective and responsibility of the position
Under the supervision of the Mission Pharmacist ensure proper general functioning of the pharmacy and supply chain processes in accordance with MSF’s standards, in order to ensure its efficiency and effective operations.

· Dispensing drugs to patients according to medical prescriptions, issuing of medical supplies to relevant units and providing information on keeping conditions in order to sustain their functional and therapeutic activities.
ï‚· Ensure proper storage, stock management and supply processes, as well as hygiene and security procedures, in order to ensure good storage conditions and availability of drugs and medical material.
ï‚· Maintain cold chain and promptly report abnormalities.
ï‚· Ensure appropriate delivery, reception and recording of local orders, updating stock files and informing line managers on their status (shortfalls, over-stocking, expiry dates), in order to permanently ensure secure stock levels and ensure efficient management of stock.
· Prepare orders of the different consumption units (departments, wards, others), ensuring proper packaging and dispatching, reporting any anomalies or changes in consumption patterns to the Project Pharmacy Manager/ Medical Team Leader. Also inform Pharmacy Manager/Medical Team Leader as soon as stock reaches alert limit.
ï‚· Give timely advice on orders of medical and drug material for the project in order to ensure an efficient and appropriate consumption pattern under budget constraints.
ï‚· Ensure efficient supply to other units managed/supported by MSF according to orders and stocks, and maintaining the cold chain when necessary.
ï‚· Keep updated records of items received and issued.
REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS):
Education
· Pharmacy Technician registered by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria with a current annual practising permit.
Knowledge
Experience
· Pharmacy management, cold chain, stock management
· Mínimum of 2 years relevant work experience
Languages
· Fluency in English (written and verbal). Hausa, an added advantage
Computer skills
· Microsoft Office (Microsoft -word, excel), internet.
