Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified individuals for the position of the Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi.

The Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi is one of the Federal Tertiary Hospitals in the country. It is a 600 bedded Tertiary Hospital located in Benue State in the North-Central geo-political zone of Nigeria

 

POSITION:

The Medical Director is the Head/Chief Executive of the Institution. He is accountable to the Board of Management under the supervision of the Honourable Minister of Health. Applicants are to note that this is a full time job.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION.

The Medical Director is the Chief Executive of the Institution and he/she is charged with the responsibility of the day to day running of the Centre.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE.

Applicants for this post should:

Be medically qualified and registered as such by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCAN) for a period of not less than twelve (12) years. 

 

.  Possess a Postgraduate Fellowship of National 

.  Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or of the 

.  West African College of Surgeons/Physicians or their equivalent.

.  Must be a Consultant for at least five (5 years).

.  Be of proven good character and intergrity.

.  Have been gainfully employed at the time of application.

.  Have knowledge of computer/ICT.

.  Experience in Health administration and Management at the tertiary level is an added advantage.

 

 

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE.

The Conditions of Service are as defined for the Chief Executives of Federal Agencies as contained in relevant rules and circulars.

 

TENURE OF OFFICE.

The appointment is for a term of four (4) years in the first instance and may be renewed, subject to satifactory performance and at the discretion of Mr. President for another term of four (4) years.
