Vision: To provide orthopaedic plaster technicians that are knowledgeable in the crafts of plaster, synthetic casting and splinting techniques in order to alleviate suffering, aid healing, prevent complication and correct deformities. 
OBJECTIVES OF THE SCHOOL 
 To train Orthopaedic Health Assistant that will work in the Orthopaedic Plaster Unit as Orthopaedic Plaster Health Technicians. 
 To conduct research into the use of local materials in plaster casting and splinting techniques. 
 To organize short courses in Orthopaedic Plaster Casting techniques for medical personnel e.g. 
Medical Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists e.t.c. 
ELIGIBILITY 
Prospective candidates must have 5 O’Level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, and at least two of Physics, Chemistry and Biology at not more than two sittings. 
COURSE CONTENT 
Human Anatomy & Physiology, Plaster Casting Techniques, Orthopaedic Pathology, Traumatology, 
Introduction to Computer, Medical Social Work e.t.c. 
COURSE DURATION 
the duration of the course is two academic sessions. 
ACCOMODATION 
The course is a non-residential one. Arrangements for lodging can however be made for students who wish to be accommodated in the limited space available in the School Hostel which is strictly based on first come, first served. 
SPONSORSHIP 
Students admitted into the School must be fully sponsored by their respective employers. No private practice is allowed during the course. 
CERTIFICATE 
At the successful completion of the course, successful students will be issued a National Technical Certificate (NTC) in Casting, which will in the near future be upgraded to National Diploma (ND) & Higher National Diploma (HND) following the accreditation of the school. 
LIBRARY FACILITIES 
Library services are provided by the Hospital and School. The Library is well equipped and also has a 
conducive environment.
