Nigeria: Sokoto Govt Spends N800 Million On Orthopaedic Hospital - Wamakko

The Sokoto State Government said it spent over N800 million on the construction of the ultra-modern Orthopaedic Hospital in Wamakko Local Government Area.
Gov. Aliyu Wamakko spoke on Sunday when he paid an unscheduled visit to the hospital project.
 
He said "the hospital will be fully equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities and accessories to function in line with best global standards."
Wamakko also said that the state government had recruited six consultants, 30 nurses and 11 paramedics for the hospital.
 
He further said that a Chief Medical Director and other principal officers had since been appointed for the new health facility, which would be would be inaugurated soon.
 
"The state government wants to alleviate the suffering of the people of the area who hitherto have had to travel to Kano or abroad for orthopaedic treatment," Wamakko said.
 
Also, the Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, restated the state government's commitment to provide efficient health care services to the people.
 
"Everything is being done to ensure that Sokoto State is at par with the other parts of the world in all aspects of health care provision," Aliyu said. (NAN)
