Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Bauchi State Chapter has restated its commitment to use anti quackery committee to check the activities of fake medical doctors operating in the state.

The state NMA chairman, Dr Yusuf Abdu Misau made this known at the inauguration of a six-man ad-hoc committee on merits and doctors directory in Bauchi.
Yusuf said, “It’s worrisome to have those quacks in the trained and disciplined profession.
“Checking their activities will be our cardinal objective in sanitizing the profession.”
The chairman said the committee, after identifying the quack doctors will liaise with the Bauchi State Ministry of Health to withdraw their licenses in order to allow the real doctors to work.

He said the newly inaugurated committee on merits and doctors directory, will go round the 20 local governments areas in the state and come up with the good practising doctors and individuals that have contributed towards improving health care service delivery.
Yusuf added that the directory will capture all practicing doctors including those in non-governmental organizations (NGOs), private practice as well as those in the government health facilities.
