Nurse Ajibola Olamide of the dept of nursing at UNILAG has received the best graduating nursing student award (N50,000) Courtesy of Nursing world at the just concluded first induction ceremony which held on 22/03/18 at the college of medicine at the University of lagos.

 

Speaking while making the presentation, Florence Cobham of Nursingworld Nigeria encouraged the awardee to adhere to all the advice given BT the various speakers and continue on with the good work knowing that Nursing world Nigeria is there for her.

Also Speaking at the event, the college secretary Barrister Oladejo Azeez, Esq who delivered the welcome address praised the inductees, encouraging them to be good ambassadors of their alma mata. In his address to the inductees, the provost CMUL, prof. FEA Lasi eulogized all the pioneer leaders in the college of Nursing who had contributed greatly to the growth of the profession in the school. He admonished the graduands to be on top of their game.

 

According to Prof. lasi, schools reward memory but life rewards imagination. He highlighted 4 secrets to success and encouraged the graduate to do more than they learnt from school.

 

Prof lasi added: 'look how far you become and not how far to go and count your blessings. Face your past without regrets and face the future without fear. Collaborate with other healthcare providers to move healthcare forward. Keep up the ethics of the profession and uphold ur alma mata

 

The Induction lecture was delivered by Dr Mavis Humphrey (guest speaker) on the need for continuing education for nurses whist the Induction proper was done by the Registrar of the NMCN and the oaths were taken by the inductees.
