PACFaH 2017 Health Budget Monitor Media Challenge

Are you passionate about Nigeria’s Health Sector? Are you a Journalist, Radio/Television Reporter or Presenter, Social Media blogger? 
 
We, the members of the Partnership for Advocacy in Child and Family Health (PACFaH) Project of Nigeria, NGO coalition invite you to join the on-going conversation on the 2017 annual health budget. 
Lend your voice to the conversation by publishing and/or broadcasting factual, evidence based, analytical stories on the health budget as a whole and/or the budgets for nutrition, routine immunization, family planning and for pneumonia/diarrhoea. 
 
To participate in this media challenge, please submit evidence that your story has been published, aired and/or broadcasted to our facebook page, web.facebook.com/PACFAH/ or twitter, twitter.com/PACFaH_Nig. 
 
In addition please upload .JPG file of your article or .MP3 of your audio recording or .MP4 of your video recording to Pacfahhealthbudgetchallenge.com on or before 15th March 2017 for verification.
The Challenge is scheduled to end on 15th March 2017 and the award ceremony will be held on 14th April 2017 to celebrate the winners.
The best entries will be awarded cash prizes as well as support to attend training programs and conferences. Cash prizes include - 1st prize - N200,000;  2nd Prize -N100,000; and 3rd Prize - N75,000. 
Stories must be factual and address issues concerning the adequacy of the 2017 national health budget as well as the adequacy of health budget for the states - Bauchi, Kano, Kaduna, Niger, Nassarawa, Oyo and Lagos.  
 
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY OF THE CATEGORIES
1. Printed Articles in Newspaper (English and Indigenous)
Interested media persons will draft, share and publicize their own content such as Newspaper articles.
Media channels for participation in the challenge; National and State Newspapers (English and Indigenous)
Participants will then upload an evidence of execution by sharing their scanned content in .JPG format on the submission portal.
2. Online Articles (Editorials)
Interested media persons will draft, share and publicize their own content articles on a credible online news websites, blogs etc and share content with PACFaH social media channels (Twitter and Facebook).
Participants will then share an evidence of execution by uploading their scanned content in .JPG format on the PACFaH submission portal.
3. National and State Radio Stations (English and Indigenous)
Develop content for radio in English and/or local dialect of that state
Participants will then share an evidence of execution by uploading their audio content in .MP3 format on the PACFaH submission portal.
4. National and State TV Stations (English and indigenous)
Develop content for TV in English and/or local dialect of that state
Participants will then share a 5mins extract of their work by uploading video content in .MP4 format on the PACFaH submission portal.
5. Social Media Influencers
 
Interested persons will draft, share and publicize their own creative campaigns with their social media accounts and tag PACFaH Social Media handles in your campaigns.

Participants will then share an evidence of execution by uploading their screenshot content in .JPG format or short .MP4 video with maximum limit of 5mins on the PACFaH submission portal.
Terms and Conditions
1. Participants will upload an evidence of execution by uploading their content on PACFaH submission portal.
Evidence include: Scanned Newspaper page, Video and Radio recordings, and Social Media Campaign screenshot/video.
2. Participants will be required to follow PACFaH online platforms and actively participate in PACFaH conversations on the 2017 health budget.

3. PACFaH will disassociate itself with participants guilty of plagiarism and derogatory content. 
4. The best stories in the following categories will be rewarded:  
· Best Radio or TV program in the local language on the adequacy of the 2017 state budget for Bauchi, Kano, Kaduna, Nassarawa, Niger, Oyo and Lagos states
· Best story by a government institution explaining government's priorities in the 2017 health budget at national or state level 
· Best factual blog in the social media on the adequacy of the 2017 health  budget at national or state level 
· Best English language Newspaper Article (National or state) on the adequacy of the health budget of 2017
· Best English language Television Program on the adequacy of the 2017 health Budget 
· Best advertorial on the 2017 health national or state budget 
· Best English/Pigeon English Radio Program (National or state) on the 2017 health budget 
· Best story by accredited media of NASS and State Houses of Assembly on the 2017 health budgets 
· Best article on the health budget by a national health association 
· Best use of Infographics in a story on the 2017 health budget 
· Most re-tweeted story or tag-line on the adequacy the national or state level health budget of 2017
