Position: Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator [M&E Coordinator]
Duty Station: Bauchi State, Nigeria.
Reporting Firstly To: National Chlorhexidine Coordinator.
Reporting Secondly To: State Coordinator.

Job Description:
The M&E Coordinator will be responsible for tracking project’s progress in achieving results in the areas of miso & chlorhexidine, polio Eradication and delivering high quality maternal, child and reproductive health services. Assist the M&E Officer to ensure field data is gathered and registered into TSHIP database, ensuring the quality of data entered and helping to produce initial statistical analyses and mostly support the miso/chlorhexidine & Polio data management. The M&E coordinator will also track progress of other process indicators, as identified by the project and required by USAID OP indicators. He/ She will track availability of commodities in the service delivery points and make the M&E Officer and the project management aware of the situation. He/ She will be expected to ensure day-to-day management of the database and data entry, and will report to the National Chlorhexidine Coordinator.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry, management, and analyses, especially in the miso/chlorhexidine & Polio Monitoring and Eradication (or SIA) data collation and analysis.
• Facilitate data management training related to TSHIP activities.
• Identify and provide ongoing capacity building and M&E support to partners and TSHIP technical project staff.
• Work with the M&E Officer to ensure timely submission of data from Partners and from TSHIP technical team leads.
• Assist in preparation of project reports
• Participate as necessary in community and facility surveys, including survey design, implementation, data entry, analysis and report writing.
• Assist the SMOH to develop and implement a feedback mechanism that will be followed up by dialogue between service providing units and the supervisor,
• Assist in checking compliance with completing Health Facility registers and forms by health providers.
• Assist in conducting regular data quality assurance on Health facility data using standard DQA tool.
• Support in strengthening health facility service providers’ M&E skills through regular mentoring.
• Other activities as negotiated with the supervisor.
Key Output:
• Support data collation, cleaning and entry on miso/chlorhexidine & Polio Eradication and delivery for high quality maternal, child and reproductive health services at LGA level.
• Ensure data quality and facilitate quality assurance control at both health facility and LGA level.
• Prepare and shortlist health facilities that did not submit their monthly summary for action.
• Generate reports/ prepare the data in graphic form using EXCEL and POWER POINT.
• Attend state or LGA review meetings, prepare and present feedback to State and LGA M&E Officers on data quality issues.
• Produce trip report on Technical Assistance (TA) provided to Facility staff on proper register and forms completion.
• Produce DQA report for Health facilities visited.
• Other M&E related task assigned by the M&E Specialist and/or M&E Snr. Advisor.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Degree from a recognised institution/university/college or equivalent with major/option in Statistics/Population Studies/Health Information Management/ Quantitative/Public Health or similar field.
• Experience in participatory assessment, monitoring and evaluation, training and facilitation, data processing or analysis and computers.
• Computer skills, especially MS Office. Experience with MS EXCEL and Access is necessary.
• Fluent spoken and written English required, knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years working experience in management of data.
• Ability to work in a team setting; patient with colleagues in and out of TSHIP.
• Good communication skills.
• Good organization and electronic file management skills
• Resourcefulness to operate under frequently tiring and isolated field circumstances and good local knowledge.
• Willingness to work 60% with partners in the facilities and 40% in the office.
