Greetings from West Africa Health Examinations Board and to thank you for all your hard work in ensuring that you keep to the COVID-19 guidelines for opening of schools amidst ease of the lockdown as a result of COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the country.

In line with this, the Board has been working hard to get approval of the Authority to allow the final year students in National Diploma (ND) & Higher National Diploma (HND) in Environmental Health Technology and Public Health Nursing (PHN) sit for the 2020 June examinations.

I am happy to inform you that the Honourable Minister of Health has granted approval to the Board to conduct the above examinations in all schools/colleges of Health across the country.

You are hereby advised to put in place necessary apparatus as stated below:

1. Provision of adequate hand washing facilities (running tap or running bucket) around the examination centres.
2. Provision and use of infrared thermometer for assessment of body temperature.
3. Compulsory use of face masks by all candidates and any other person participating in the examinations.
4. Provision and use of alcohol based hand sanitizer at the centers of the examinations.
5. Decontamination of the Examination halls and furniture.
6. Single seating arrangements for all students in order to maintain physical distance policy of not more than twenty-five (25) candidates in a class room and one hundred (100) in an auditorium.
7. Institutions with more than One hundred (100) candidates are to send details of their sitting arrangement to the Board on or before Wednesday, 2nd September, 2020 to allow for the conduct of inspection before the examinations.

Schools/colleges are advised to go ahead with revision of the second semester school work with the graduating students and forward their in-course to the Board.

NOTE: THE 2020 WAHEB JUNE EXAMINATIONS WILL COMMENCE FROM 14TH – 18TH SEPTEMBER, 2020.
