Edo State University, Iyamho was established by the Edo State University Iyamho Law (2014) and subsequently amended to Edo State University Iyamho, Uzairue (Amendment Law 2015). It was further amended as Edo State University, Iyamho (Amendment Law 2016). The University was accorded recognition and issued a license by the National Universities Commission on 23rd March, 2016, as the 41st state-owned University and 142nd University in Nigeria.
Edo State University, Iyamho is a fee-paying institution of world-class standard. The purpose of establishing the University is to meet the increasing demands for quality tertiary education in Edo State, in particular and Nigeria in general. The Edo State Government also realised that developing human capital through quality education is the key to meaningful development of the State, hence the need to establish a University that will provide quality education. The University is also expected to propel social, economic, political, cultural, scientific and industrial growth of the State and Nigeria. The establishment of the Edo State University Uzairue will equally increase access to tertiary education for Edo State citizens and other Nigerians. Edo State University, Iyamho, is fully owned by the Edo State Government.

Requirements
Candidates should possess a Ph.D degree (or a Fellowship of either the National or West African College) in the appropriate discipline applied for, with at least ten (10) years teaching and research experience in a University, and at least two (2) years as an Associate Professor.
Candidates must possess scholarly publications in both local and international journals as proof of specialization in core areas of departmental fields of study.
Candidates must also have sufficient administrative experience.
Associate Professor
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess a Ph.D degree (or a Fellowship of either the National or West African College), with eight (8) years teaching and research experience in a University, and at least two (2) years as a Senior Lecturer.
Candidate must also have sufficient administrative experience.
Candidates must possess scholarly publications in both local and international journals as proof of specialization in core areas of departmental fields of study.

Senior Lecturer
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess a Ph.D degree (or a Fellowship of either the National or West African College), with five (5) years teaching and research experience in a University, and at least two (2) years as a Lecturer I.

Lecturer I
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess a Ph.D degree (or a Fellowship of either the National or West African College), with three (3) years teaching and research experience in a University, and at least two (2) years as a Lecturer II.
Additional Requirements:

- Professional registration (where applicable)
- Current practicing license (Medical fields)
- Scholarly publications required
- Administrative experience preferred.
