Advertisement for Admission into College of Nursing Sciences, Post Basic Nursing Programs for 2026/2027 Academic Session

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the 2026/2027 academic session into the following Post Basic Nursing Programmes:

1. Critical Care Nursing  

2. Nephrology Nursing  

3. Paediatric Nursing  

4. Perioperative Nursing

 

The Post Basic Nursing course is a two semester specialized training designed to equip Registered Nurses (RN) with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for effective, safe, and evidence based nursing practice.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must:

1. Be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a current practicing license obtained from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).  

2. Have at least five O’Level credit passes in not more than two sittings, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry from GCE, WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS.  

  Note: NABTEB and NBAIS cannot be combined with WAEC or NECO.  

3. WAEC plus NECO or NECO plus WAEC combinations are acceptable.  

4. Have at least one year of post qualification experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
