Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, ABUAD, acknowledged by NUC, the Regulatory Authority for University Education in Nigeria, as "a model, benchmark and reference point" as well as "the pride of University system in Nigeria" and endorsed by the Association of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (AVCNU) as "the most successful private university in Nigeria" commenced uninterrupted Academic activities on its permanent site in Ado-Ekiti on January 4, 2010 with 240 pioneer students. As a result of its uninterrupted Academic calendar, the University with a students' population of 8,500, has students from all the 36 states of the Federation, including the FCT. (A) Postgraduate Diploma Programmes i. Five Credit Passes including English, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects at 'O' Level. 

ii. Bachelor's Degree holders from any NUC-approved University with a minimum of Third-Class Degree in a relevant discipline. 

iii. Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant programmes from approved institutions with Credit Level (for Engineering only, specifically Upper Credit) grade. 

(B) Master's Degree Programmes 

i. Five Credit Passes including English, Mathematics and three others relevant subjects at 'O' Level. 

ii. A minimum of Second-Class Lower Division in a relevant discipline of universities approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC). 

iii. University Degree with Third Class grade or HND plus a university PGD with Credit Level (for Engineering only, specifically Upper Credit) grade. 

(C) Ph.D. Degree Programmes 

i. Five Credit Passes including English, Mathematics and three others relevant subjects at '0' Level. 

ii. Relevant Master's Degree of Afe Babalola University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Afe Babalola University with a minimum of 60% or a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.50, except for Nursing that is 4.00, on a 5.00 Grade Point.

iii. An average score of 50 – 59.9% at master’s level shall be considered for conditional Ph.D. admission.
