Lagos State Traditional Medicine Board (LSTMB) has said it would enforce the directive of the National Council on Health (NCH) that mandates all practitioners of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) to register their operations.
This was part of the resolutions at the 62nd meeting of traditional medicine practitioners held in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
Registrar of Lagos State Traditional Medicine Board, Olorunkemi Kadiku, said practitioners in Lagos must get registered by the end of next month.
Kadiku noted that LSTMB was established in 1980 to oversee the development, promotion, monitoring, regulation and integration of traditional medicine practice into the state’s healthcare.
He said LSTMB was in the process of registering other facilities following the unveiling of the newly-licenced Milyash Alternative Specialist Clinic on Victoria Island – the first registered traditional medicine clinic in Lagos.
