Candidates must possess five (5) O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences

Basic Requirement:
Candidates must possess five (5) O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Faculty of Nursing Sciences
Available Programmes: MNSc, M.Phil, and Ph.D.
Department of Nursing Science with specializations in:
- Community/Public Health Nursing
- Maternal and Child Health Nursing
- Medical Surgical Nursing
- Mental/Psychiatric Nursing
For MNSc:
- Five (5) O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- Possession of BNSC, RN, RM, RPHN, or other post-basic professional certificates registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) is an added advantage.
For M.Phil, M.Phil/Ph.D., and Ph.D.:
- Five (5) O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- RN, RM, RPHN or other post-basic professional certificates registered by NMCN will be an added advantage.
Specific Admission Requirements
- Postgraduate Diploma Programme
Candidates must possess B.Tech., B.Sc., B.Eng., BMLS, or B.A degree with at least 3rd Class in relevant disciplines or HND with at least Lower Credit. MBBS and DVM holders may be considered for PGD in Biochemistry. - M.Tech./M.Sc./M.A Programme
Candidates must possess B.Tech., B.Sc., B.Eng., B.A, or BMLS degree with at least Second Class Lower Division. Holders of PGD in relevant disciplines must have a minimum score of 60. - M.Phil and Ph.D. Programmes
Candidates must have a minimum weighted average score of 50 for M.Phil and 60 for Ph.D. Applicants for Ph.D. may start with M.Phil/Ph.D. where appropriate. - For MNSc
BNSc or B.Sc. Nursing degree from recognized universities with a minimum of pass if unclassified or Second Class Lower Division. Post-basic professional certificates registered by NMCN are an added advantage. - For M.Phil Nursing
Candidates who scored between 50% and 54% in MNSc or M.Sc Nursing are eligible for M.Phil. - For M.Phil/Ph.D and Ph.D Nursing
Candidates with a weighted score of 60 or above in M.Sc or MNSc Nursing are eligible for Ph.D. Those with 55%-59% qualify for M.Phil/Ph.D.

- Postgraduate Diploma: Minimum of two (2) semesters
- Master: Minimum of three (3) semesters
- M.Phil: Minimum of three (3) semesters
- Ph.D.: Minimum of six (6) semesters
