Breaking News: NDDC Launches 2025 Local Post Graduate Scholarship Programme!

In an ongoing commitment to boost Human Resource Development in the Niger Delta, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is excited to announce the launch of its 2025 Local Post Graduate Scholarship Programme. This initiative aims to empower young individuals from the region with essential training and skills, preparing them for effective participation in the Federal Government's Local Content Programme. The scholarship is designed to enhance global competitiveness by supporting academic excellence and professional growth in key disciplines.

How to Apply: Prospective and qualified candidates should visit the NDDC website: www.nddc.gov.ng.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be an indigene of the Niger Delta Region.
  • Not older than 40 years of age.
  • Possess a First Class, Second Class Upper, or Lower Bachelor's Degree, or a Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Upper Credit and Post Graduate Diploma (PGD).

Selection Process:

  1. Initial Application: Complete and submit an online application via the Commission's website.
  2. Preliminary Shortlisting: Based on WASSCE/NECO results, undergraduate degree classification, and valid Local Government Identification.
  3. Computer-Based Test (CBT): Conducted at designated centers in Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Rivers States. Candidates must score at least 70% to qualify for the next stage.
  4. Further Shortlisting: Based on CBT results, candidates will be shortlisted for an oral interview.
  5. Final Verification: Verification through respective Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Community Development Committees (CDCs).

Application Deadline: Submit your application by July 20, 2025.

  • Recent passport photograph
  • Local Government Identification Letter
  • Post Graduate admission letter from a recognized Nigerian university
  • Relevant degrees from recognized universities
  • NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate

Upon successful completion of the application form, a registration number will be automatically assigned. Applicants are advised to print a hard copy of the online-generated acknowledgment for future reference. All shortlisted applicants will be announced and posted on the NDDC website.

Important Note: The NDDC will not communicate with candidates who are not shortlisted for the CBT, not invited for an oral interview, or not successful at the oral interview stage. Preference will be given to candidates from Oil Producing Host/Communities/Local Government Areas, provided they meet the approved cut-off mark. The Commission will ensure a fair distribution of courses among beneficiaries within each state. Deferment, change of institution, and course are not permitted. The Commission reserves the sole discretion to select candidates based on the stated criteria and its internal considerations. The decision of the Commission is final.
