We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Diagnostic Radiographer

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

  • To maintain a high standard inn discharge of duties within Medical Services.
  • To provide a quality service for patients by ensuring that every patient is treated as an individual in terms of courtesy, kindness, efficiency, efficacy, and confidentiality.
  • Being caring and compassionate to patients
  • Offer support and care to patients undergoing treatment
  • To take part in shift service as required.
  • Undertake Radiographic and Imaging examinations on patients as required.
  • Choose the best options of protocols and treatment plan for your patients
  • Aid Radiologists in the diagnosis of patients with injuries and illnesses
  • To follow directions of Attending Consultant Radiologist, Clinical Specialists, more experienced radiographers, staff, and departmental protocols where applicable.
  • To be aware of own limitations in terms of expertise and experience and not to be afraid to ask for assistance or advice from more senior staff.
  • Being responsible for all radiation safety and checking equipment for any malfunctions
  • To take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures. To report any defects or problems either directly to the RSM and Central Operations Office in the area where working.
  • To keep up to date with current techniques and developments in Radiographic and imaging procedures and to take part in in-service training as required and staying up to date with the latest industry developments and technology
  • To actively participate in Continued Professional Development.
  • To ensure that the three principles of radiation protection, namely justification, optimization (ALARA) and dose constraints/limits are adhered to.
  • To be familiar with Radiography Council directive Basic safety standards for the protection of health workers and the general public against the dangers arising from Ionizing Radiation and Council directive
  • To be familiar with, and abide by, all Health and Safety Rules and recommendations.
  • To report all defects and occurrences that might affect safety.
  • To carry out any other duties as directed by the RSM, Clinical Specialist or Senior Radiographer in area where working.
  • To maintain good working relationships with colleagues and with non-radiographic staff, both in the Radiology Department and elsewhere in the hospital.
  • Other duties assigned that are appropriate to the post.

Qualifications

B.Sc Degree with relevant work experience.
