Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into various Postgraduate programs of the University.

The Postgraduate programs are available in Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Science (M.Sc), Master of Public Health (MPH) and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) levels in all the listed departments.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

• All candidates must meet matriculation requirements including O'level credit passes in English Language and Mathematics and any other related subject as required by the Department.
• Holders of HND with Upper Credit or above in its relevant areas and professional qualifications such as ICAN, ACA, FIST, FIMT, FMILT, and FNIST may also qualify for admission
• Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from FUTO or any other recognized University with at least a Third Class Honours are qualified or Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) programmed
• A good Bachelor's Degree with at least Second Class Honours in other related disciplines.

MASTERS: M.Sc and MPH

• Candidates applying for the Master of Science (M.Sc), Master of Public Health (MPH) program must possess any of the following in addition to O'Level Credit passes in English Language and Mathematics and satisfying the basic matriculation requirements of the Department/Institute:
• A Bachelor's degree with at least a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) qualification in the related area from FUTO or from any other recognized University.
• A Bachelor's degree from a recognized University plus a PGD of not less than 2.50 CGPA on a 5-point scale or 3.00 on a 4.00-point scale or equivalent in the relevant areas from FUTO or any recognized University.
• Any other qualification as the University Senate may from time to time recognize/approve.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

• Candidates applying for the PhD Programme must possess any of the following in addition to O'level credit passes in English Language and Mathematics and satisfying the basic matriculation requirements of the Department/institution:
• A Master's degree with a CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 point scale or 3.00 on a 4.00 point scale or equivalent in the relevant areas from FUTO or any recognized University.
• Any other qualification as the University Senate may from time to time recognize/approve.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

• Candidates are advised to complete the application forms online through www.futo.edu.ng. Application opens from 12th March 2024 to 14th July 2024.
• Ensure that the referee's email address supplied is valid as a referee form link will be sent to your referee for completion online.
• Please note that only valid email addresses and phone numbers are used as further correspondence will be through these channels.
• Print out a copy of the acknowledgement slip when the form is completed. Also, an acknowledgement will be sent to the email address you provided while filling out the form. Therefore make sure you provide a valid personal email address.

DOCUMENTS TO UPLOAD TO THE POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL PORTAL

• Candidates should upload scanned copies of the following relevant documents in support of their application online.
• Higher National Diploma (HND) cerficate/Statement Result
• University Degree Certificate/Statement of Result
• NYSC Discharge Certificate/Exemption Letter "O" Level Result
• Other Relevant Documents.

SUBMISSION OF ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT

All applicants must forward hard copies of their academic transcripts to reach the Deputy Registrar/Secretary, Postgraduate School, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State Nigeria.

Please note that any application without an academic transcript will not be considered for admission.

CLOSING DATE

The website will close on 14th July 2024 and all submissions of documents will close on the same day. All successful candidates will be notified via email/SMS.
