MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) BETWEEN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA (FGN) AND THE HEALTH PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS AND UNIONS ON COVID-19 SPECIAL INCENTIVES FOR HEALTH WORKERS IN FGN PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM HELD ON 21ST APRIL, 2020 UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE FEDERAL MINISTRY OF LABOUR & EMPLOYMENT

PREAMBLE

On Tuesday, April 21, 2020, the Hoourable Minister of Labour and Employment convened a stakeholders meeting to discuss hazard/welfare package for medical and health professionals/workers working for the prevention and containment of the COVID-19. The Honouralbe Minister of state for health and Ag. Chairman, National Salaries, Income and wages commission (NSIWC) represented the FGN and the leadership of the Nigerian Medical Association (NSIWC), Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria (PSN), National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) and joint Health sector unions (JOHESU) represented all the health associations / union. This is sequel to an earlier emergency FGN side meeting held on Saturday, 18th April, 2020 by the Honourable Ministers of Labour and Employment, FCT, Health, (State), Ag. Chairman NSIWC to harmonise COVID-19 alowances payable to all FGN Health workers.
