Requirements for Academic Positions

Professor

•  MBBS, BDS or Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline
•  Ph.D. or Fellowship of National Postgraduate Medical College or equivalent
•  Minimum of 12 years teaching and research experience
•  Proven scholarly publications
•  Evidence of postgraduate supervision and academic leadership
•  Registration with relevant professional bodies

Reader

•  Same qualifications as Professor
•  Minimum of 9 years teaching and research experience

Senior Lecturer

•  Same qualifications as above
•  Minimum of 6 years post-qualification experience
•  Evidence of research productivity and teaching capability

Lecturer I

•  MBBS/BDS with registrable Fellowship or Ph.D.
•  Evidence of pass at Part One Fellowship or equivalent
•  Bachelor's degree with Ph.D.

Lecturer II

•  MBBS/BDS or Bachelor's degree with M.Sc.
•  Evidence of academic growth potential

Assistant Lecturer

•  Bachelor's degree (Second Class Upper Division)
•  Evidence of academic growth potential
•  Postgraduate qualification is an advantage

Instructor

•  Bachelor's degree with Second-Class Division
•  Relevant professional registration

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary and other conditions are in accordance with the Nigerian Federal University System and approved by the Federal Government.
