Prediagnosis International is a non-governmental organization committed to providing accessible mental health support and early intervention to individuals across diverse communities. We have recently launched a dedicated Mental Health Call Center to offer immediate, compassionate, and professional support to those struggling with mental health challenges including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, grief, trauma, stress, and more.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Mental Health Support Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Employment Type: Full-time

 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line mental health support through phone conversations, active listening, and appropriate interventions.
• Conduct psychological first aid and offer guidance tailored to the caller’s challenges.
• Identify high-risk situations and escalate to licensed professionals or emergency services when necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation of each interaction.
• Collaborate with supervisors and a team of licensed professionals to ensure quality service delivery.

 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Guidance and Counselling, or a related field (mandatory).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and non-judgmental demeanor.
• Ability to handle sensitive conversations with professionalism and care.
• Previous experience in mental health support, crisis response, or social work is an added advantage.
• Must be computer-literate and comfortable using call center software (training provided).
