The Ogun State Government has sought for more effective collaboration with the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in order to rid the state of adulterated products and further aid the growth of the economy.

The Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs Kikelomo Longe, disclosed this during the commissioning of a new NAFDAC office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Longe said that a stronger synergy with the agency would help boost the industrial growth currently experienced under the present administration, while also helping to build a healthy population.

Represented by the Director, Industrial Promotion, Engr Kehinde Akintomide, Mrs Longe lauded NAFDAC for its efforts thus far, calling on the agency not to rest on its oars as it regulated food and other consumables in line with its mandate.

In her address, the DG of NAFDAC, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, said the agency constructed the Abeokuta office and six other offices across the country to provide the enabling environment for its staff and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) so as to enhance service delivery, adding that NAFDAC had become a more customer-focused agency that put the interest of the country first.
