Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate PTAD to Remove Unverified Parastatals Pensioners from its Payroll

Posted on: Thu 03-09-2020

PTAD wishes to inform Pensioners of Federally Funded Parastatals, Agencies and Institutes under the Defined Benefit Scheme, that the names of Pensioners that did not submit themselves for the Directorate's 2019 Parastatal Pension Department (PaPD) Nationwide and In-House verifications will be removed from the payroll with effect from October 2020.

The list of the affected Pensioners had been given to the Pension Unions/Associations/ Agencies and Institutes since July 2020 for dissemination and sensitization of their members and to give a feedback to the Directorate. The list can also be found on PTAD website; www.ptad.gov.ng.

It will be recalled that between April - November 2019, the Directorate conducted a Nationwide PaPD verification exercise for Pensioners of Federally Funded Parastatals, Agencies and Institutions in the six (6) geo political zones of the country including Lagos and Abuja where a total of 76,064 Pensioners were verified and documented. Also, continuous In-House verification organized to accommodate those who missed the field exercise has so far recorded a total of 3, 150 pensioners who have been added to the documented Pensioners.

Documented Diaspora Pensioners and Pensioners who requested for mobile verification, but have not yet been verified, have also been added to the documented Pensioners pending when it would be convenient for them to be verified.

However, in view of the Covid-19 lockdown, PTAD has released some guidelines which bonafide Pensioners amongst the Identified 21,227 pensioners with authentic documents should follow to ensure that their names are not removed from the payroll:

  1. If you are resident overseas (pensioner in diaspora), please scan all your career records, bank statement, BVN Slip with picture, mobile number, email address, resident permit, data page of international passport showing picture and personal details, certificate of aliveness from the nearest Nigeria Embassy and send to the email address: [email protected]
  2. If you are sick, please scan all your career records, bank statement, BVN Slip with picture, mobile number, email address, national identity card or national driver's license, medical report from a Government Hospital and send to the email address: papdcomplaintsRptad.gov.ng;
  3. If you are neither sick nor resident abroad but missed the verification exercises of 2019, please scan all your career records, bank statement, BVN Slip with picture, mobile number, email address, national identity card or national driver's license, and send to the email address: [email protected] to be scheduled for verification;
  4. In the unlikely event that you have been previously verified by the Directorate but still find your name on the list, please scan your verification slip and send to this Email Address: [email protected].

To check their name on the list, Pensioners are required to input their account number and the name of the Agency they retired from. If the Pensioner's details do not open up, it means that the pensioner's name is not on the list of those who are to be removed from the payroll.
