We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Pharmacist

Location: Benin, Edo

Employment Type: Full-time

 

Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Pharmacist to manage the safe and effective dispensing of medications, provide pharmaceutical care, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and professional standards.

The Pharmacist will play a key role in optimizing patient outcomes and supporting overall healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and dispense prescriptions accurately in accordance with physician orders
  • Ensure safe use of medications through proper dosage verification and counseling
  • Provide drug information and advice to patients and healthcare professionals
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
  • Maintain proper inventory control and ensure availability of essential medicines
  • Monitor drug storage conditions and expiry management
  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and ethical standards
  • Maintain accurate patient medication records and documentation
  • Participate in clinical review and medication therapy management when required.

Requirements / Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or equivalent)
  • Valid practicing license/registration with the appropriate regulatory body
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and therapeutic uses
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong ethical judgment and professionalism
  • Good leadership and supervisory skills
  • Proficiency in computer and pharmacy management software is an advantage.

Experience:

  1. Entry-level Pharmacist: Internship/NYSC or 0–1 year post-qualification experience
  2. Experienced Pharmacist: 2–5+ years in community or hospital pharmacy
  3. Managerial roles: Prior supervisory or hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be licensed and in good standing with the relevant regulatory authority
  • Ability to work under pressure in a clinical or retail environment
  • Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or public holidays if required
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
