Activities at the College of Health technology in Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State were grounded on Thursday following the protest embarked upon by the hundreds of ad-hoc workers of the institution.
The workers who gathered at the School entrance as early as 10.a.m on Thursday, blocked the entrance gates and prevented movement into the school premises.
Wambutda Wugokwe, the leader of the protesters who spoke to newsmen, lamented that the non-confirmation and absorption in the ongoing replacement of workers and the non-payment of 45 monthly stipends were the reasons behind the protest.
He added that the protest was an opportunity for them to bring to the attention of the government and other relevant agencies on the injustice and unfair treatment, which they had suffered in the institution for the past years.
They vowed to continue the protests until their demands were met.
