Job Purpose

Provide technical support to the analysis and review of HIV surveillance data (including Mortality, Recency and Case-based surveillance) in line with approved protocols and provide feedback to stakeholders and program teams on project performance.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for all surveillance and survey-related activities at study locations in the States.
  • Support the supervision and review of regular surveillance data collection processes across implementing entities and ensure quality of the data.
  • Facilitate conduct of random and complete verifications and validations, while preserving data in a safe and accessible way across reporting platforms in collaboration with the HI team.
  • Support the provision of technical support on all SI and evidence-based recommendations to the relevant program team and stakeholders with focus on assigned thematic areas.
  • Support and facilitate the implementation of SI field activities and ensure they adhere to the organization, GON and USG Surveillance system.
  • Support the coordination of supported entities across states and stakeholders to collect data against agreed indicators in line with GON and USG/CDC requirements.
  • Facilitate trainings on, and support the proper use of program Monitoring and Evaluation, and Surveillance tools across all supported entities.
  • Conduct high level data analysis for publications/dissemination, using surveillance, surveys, and outcome data.
  • Support the development of information sharing platforms with multiple applications to improve coordination and knowledge sharing including the production of analytical summaries: graphs, charts, tables, narratives and appealing visuals, as requested, to fulfill internal and external reporting requirement.
  • Support the production of surveillance (recency, case based & mortality surveillance) bulletins to facilitate use of surveillance data to drive program improvements and HIV epidemic controls across the organization supported states
  • Support the implementation of project surveys, special studies, including operations research and evaluations.
  • Review, validate and conduct completeness, and consistency check on all data relating to HIV surveillance before upload before submission to country office for upload to USG/CDC/PEPFAR DATIM/DHIS and SHIELD portal on a quarterly, semiannual and annual reporting cycles for all supervised entities in the satellite command.
  • Support review of data generated from the NMRS for completeness, accuracy and consistency.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned tasks.

Qualifications & Experience

  • University Degree in Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Computer science or any related field.
  • 3 to 4 years’ experience in M&E and surveillance reporting position with Local or International NGOs; preferably in HIV Care and treatment.
  • Experience with DHIS, DATIM and RADET reporting a plus.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Access required;
  • Experience with data form design, collection and data entry
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team;
  • Ability to analyze and interpret large amount of information
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
