The Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, Nasarawa State situated in North-Central Zone of the country, was established in June, 1983 by the Federal Government of Nigeria. It was established with the desire to revolutionize the society technologically for self-reliance and to enhance the nation's technologically development. The Polytechnic runs National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) (Both Full-Time and Part-Time) and other postgraduate programmes.

Academic Staff Requirements
Principal Lecturer
- Candidates must have published a total of 10 conference/seminar papers, nine journal articles accepted for publication or contribution of three meaningful chapters in a standard textbook or a book and three Conference papers or a candidate possessing a Doctorate Degree with at least 12 years cognate experience and must have a total of nine conference papers and 10 journal articles accepted for publications or four chapters contribution in a standard textbooks.
In addition, candidates should have the following:
- Evidence of scholarly publications.
- Demonstrable ability to provide academic and supervisory leadership.
- Evidence of continuous research/innovation in their field (s).
- Demonstrable ability to initiate good and applied research.
- Evidence of community service.
- Demonstrable ability to make an outstanding contribution in a specific scholarly, technical, applied discipline in standard textbook(s) or for a major invention/innovation as attested by an external assessor, or substantial and outstanding contribution through papers in international/national conference/seminars/workshops.
- Professional certification/membership. Successful external assessment.
- Must be well acquainted with current developments in their fields.
- Must be able to use computers and ICT.
Senior Lecturer
- Candidates should possess a Doctorate Degree in relevant discipline with at least nine (9) years' teaching and research or industrial work experience plus five journals and six conference/seminar papers.
- Also, candidates should have a successful external assessment and ability to use computers and ICT.
Lecturer I
- Candidates should possess a Master's Degree plus at least twelve years' teaching/research or industrial work experience and four journals accepted for publication plus five conference/seminar papers
- Or a Doctorate Degree in relevant discipline plus three years teaching/research or industrial work experience plus two journal publications and three conference/seminar papers. In addition, candidates should have good knowledge of computers.
Lecturer II
- Candidates should possess a relevant Master's Degree plus at least six (6) years teaching / research or industrial work experience with three conference papers and one journal publication OR a Doctorate Degree in relevant discipline plus three journal publications and three conference / seminar papers.
- In addition, candidates should have good knowledge of computers.
Lecturer III
- Candidates should possess a relevant Master's Degree with at least three (3) years cognate experience plus at least one conference / seminar papers.
- Also, candidates should have good knowledge of computers
Non-Academic Staff Requirements
1. Medical Officers (CONMESS 02)
- Candidates should possess M.B.B.S and registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, Plus NYSC Certificate plus one year cognate experience.
2. Nursing Officer II (CONHESS 07)
- Candidates should possess a good Bachelor Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower) in Nursing Plus registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria (N.M.C.N)
3. Staff Nurse/Staff Midwife I (CONHESS 07)
- Candidates should possess Nigerian Registered Nurse (N.R.N)/ Nigerian Registered Midwife (N.R.M) certificate with three years post qualification cognate experience.
4. Medical Laboratory Scientist II (CONHESS 07)
- Candidates should possess a good Bachelor's Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) in Medical Laboratory Science, registerable with the Institute of Medical Laboratory Scientist (IMLS) plus NYSC Certificate.
