Howard University Global Initiative, Nigeria (HUGIN), under the auspices of the Accelerating Control of the HIV Epidemic in Nigeria (ACE) Project, has an objective to achieve sustainable epidemic control for HIV across sub-populations and sub-national geographies as well as sustain the ability of state govenments and CSOS to lead and manage comprehensive HIV programs for long-term; Howard University as the technical assistance partner for pharmacy services supports the project's efforts to promote pharmacy best practices by providing technical leadership in strengthening pharmacy systems and pharmacists' capacity to provide quality HIV/AIDS and TB pharmacy services both at the health facility and community levels.

Job Title: State Pharmacy Manager

Job Description

  • The State Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for providing technical and programmatic support on the project's pharmacy related activities in strengthening the pharmacy systems in the project states in a sustainable and integrated manner.  
  • S/he will be responsible for providing sound technical assistance to the pharmacy services providers at the facility and community levels in the state. S/he will report to the Associate Director, Pharmacy Services.

 

Minimum Requirement Standards

  • B.Pharm/PharmD and MS in Clinical Pharmacy with 10-12 years relevant experience with international pharmacy development programs with 7-10 years supervisory experience and current registration as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria.  
  • A good working experience of Differentiated Service Delivery (DSD) of HIV/AIDS services, pharmacovigilance monitoring as well as Decentralized Drug Delivery (DDD) models of ART medications refill services will be an added advantage.

 

Job Circumstances

  • The job involves at least 30% local travel at short notice.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to extend working hours to meet deadlines and at short notice
  • Ability to function effectively in multi-disciplinary teams to produce excellent results under pressure
  • Ability to use key computing applications eg MS Office Suite etc and knowledge of different database (DHIS or LAMIS) is a plus.
