Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following Programmes offered at the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State for the 2020/2021 Academic Session. 

1.0 HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) PROGRAMMES

 i.  School of Business and Management Studies. 

1. Accountancy 
2. Banking and Finance 
3. Business Administration and Management 
4. Marketing 
5. Public Administration 
6. Office Technology Management. 

ii.  School of Engineering Technology. 

1. Civil Engineering Technology 
2. Electrical & Electronics Engineering Technology, (Electronics & Telecom, Power & Machine Options) 
3. Mechanical Engineering Technology (Manufacturing option). 

iii.  School of Environmental Studies. 

1. Architectural Technology 
2. Building Technology 
3. Quantity Surveying 

iv.  School of Science and Technology. 

1. Food Technology 
2. Science Laboratory Technology (Bio-Chemistry & Applied Chemistry options) 
3. Statistics 
4. Computer Science

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: 

The minimum requirements for admission into the Higher National Diploma programmes are as follows:- 

1. National Diploma (ND) in the relevant field with a minimum of Lower Credit grade obtained from a recognized institution with a minimum of one-year post qualification experience. In exceptional cases, candidates with pass grade and a minimum of two years post qualification experience in the relevant field may be considered for admission. 
2. Five (5) relevant credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in SSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB and other O/L equivalent qualifications obtained at not more than two (2) sittings. 

2.0 CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES. 

A. School of Information and Communication Technology. 

1. Typist Grade II Certificate (CSS). 
2. Certificate in Computer Science (CCS) 

Entry Requirements: 

Candidates should possess at least two (2) passes in SSCE, GCE, 'O’ Level WAEC, NECO, or its equivalent (NABTEB, GRADE II TEACHERS CERTIFICATE) or a pass in English Language or equivalent qualifications acceptable to the Polytechnic. 

Duration: 2 Semesters 

Certificate in Computer Science.

Entry Requirements: 

Candidates should possess at least any two (2) passes in SSCE, GCE 'O leve', NABTEB, Grade II Teachers Certificate or equivalent qualification. Passes should be in Science subjects. 

Duration: 2 Semesters. 

B. School of Science and Technology. 

1. Certificate in Science Laboratory Technology (CSLT). 
2. Intermediate Certificate in Hospitality Management (CHM). 

Entry Requirements: 

Candidates should possess at least any two (2) passes in SSCE, GCE 'O'Level, NABTEB, Grade II Teachers Certificate or equivalent qualification, Passes should be in Science subjects. 

Duration: 2 Semesters. 

C. School of Engineering Technology. 

i. Intermediate Certificate in Civil Engineering and Building Works (ICCEBW). 

Entry Requirements: 

Candidates must possess any of the following 

1. National Technical Certificate. 
2. Basic Apprenticeship Certificate.
3. Elementary Certificate in Public Works and High Way Engineering 
4. GCE, O’ Level SSCE, (WAEC and NECO) with two (2) passes in science subjects. 
5. Any other qualification acceptable to the Polytechnic. 

Duration: 2 Semesters.

 ii. Intermediate Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Practice (ICMEP). 

Entry Requirements:

Candidates must possess any of the following: 

1. WAEC GCE 'O' Level, SSCE or its equivalent (NECO, NABTEB) with passes in any two (2) subjects of the Science, Trade or Technical subjects. 
2. Basic Apprenticeship Training Certificate (BAIC) in any Mechanical Engineering Craft or 
3. Lower Credit in Elementary Certificate in any Mechanical Engineering Craft Practice, Auto, Machine Tools, Plants etc or working experience in the Mechanical Engineering outfit or. 
4. Any other qualification acceptable to the Polytechnic. 

Duration: 2 Semesters. 

iii. Intermediate Certificate in Electrical Installation (ICEI) 

Entry Requirements: 

Candidates should possess GCE '0' Level, SSCE or its equivalent (NECO, NABTEB) plus one credit or three passes in any of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Technical Drawing. Duration: 2 Semesters. 

iv. Advance Certificate in Electrical Installation (ACEI) 

Entry Requirements:

Candidates should possess Certificate in Electrical Installation at Intermediate level or City and Guild Electrical Installation Course B or its equivalent. 

Duration: 2 Semesters 

v. Intermediate Certificate in Civil Engineering and Building works (ICCEBW). 

Entry Requirements: 

Candidates should possess either 

(i) National Technical Certificate; Basic Apprenticeship Certificate; Elementary Certificate in Public Works and High Way Engineering: GCE Level SSCE (WAEC & NECO) with two passes in Science Subjects or any other qualification acceptable to the Polytechnic. 

Duration: 2 Semesters. 

4.0 Part-time Programmes 

i. Diploma in Public Administration (DPA). 

ii. Diploma in Civil Law (DCL) 

iii Certificate in Crime Management & Prevention (CCMP) 

Entry Requirements: 

Candidates should possess any of the following: 

1. a Holder of Certificate in Public Admin., Public Account and Audit Local Government Admin., Social Welfare Admin., Community Development or their equivalents. 
2. Holder of Grade II Teachers Cert, WAEC/GCE 'O’ Level/SSCE or its equivalent (NECO, NABTEB) with a minimum of five (5) Credit passes (including English Language and Mathematics) or 
3. Any other qualification acceptable to the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda.

Duration: 4 Semesters 

ii. Higher Diploma in Public Administration (HDPA). 

Entry Requirements: 

1. Holder of relevant Diploma Certificate or its equivalent 
2. Holder of relevant National Certificate HSC, NCE. ANBC or any other Certificate acceptable to the Polytechnic. 
3. All candidates in each case must meet the entry requirements for Pre-National Diploma Programme (specified in 1.0 above). 

Duration: 4 Semesters. 

iii. Diploma in Public Account and Audit (DPAA). 

Entry Requirements: As listed in 4.0 (i) above. 

Duration: 4 Semesters. 

iv. Higher Diploma in Public Account and Audit (HDPAA). 

Entry Requirements: As in 4.0 (ii) above. 

Duration: 4 Semesters. 

v. Diploma in Computer Science (DCS).

Entry Requirements: 

1. Holder of Certificate in Computer Science or equivalent or 
2. Holder of WAEC/GCE Level/SSCE or its equivalent (NECO, NABTEB Teachers Grade II Cert) with a minimum of five (5) relevant credit passes including English Language and Mathematics. 

Duration: 4 Semesters. 

vi. Certificate in Public Administration (CPA). 

Entry Requirements: 

Any two (2) passes in SSCE/GCE ICI Level. NABTEB, Grade II Teachers Cert, with a pass in English Language or Mathematics 

Duration: 2 Semesters 

vii. Certificate in Public Account and Audit (CPAA). 

Entry Requirements: Any two (2) passes in SSCE/GCE or pass in Mathematics 

Duration: 2 Semesters 

viii. Diploma in Local Government Studies (DLGS). 

Entry Requirements: 

Candidate should possess any of the following: 

1. a Holder of Certificate in Public Admin., Public Accounts Audit Local Government Admin., Social Welfare Admin., Community Development or their equivalent 
2. b.Holder of TC II Certificate WAEC/GCE O’ Level, SSCE or passes including English Language and Mathematics 
3. Any other qualification acceptable to the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda 

ix. Diploma in Arabic & Islamic Studies (DAIS) and Higher Diploma in Arabic & Islamic Studies (HDAIS)

Duration: 4 Semesters. 

Entry Requirements: 

Five (5) relevant credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in SSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB and other O/L equivalent qualifications obtained at not more than two (2) sittings. 

i) HND Business Administration and Management (Part-Time) 

Entry Requirements: same as in HND Business Administration and Management Full-Time (Regular) Duration: 2 Years (Six Semesters) 

ii) HND Accountancy Part-Time 

Entry Requirements: same as in HND Business Administration and Management Full-Time (Regular) Duration: 2 Years (Six Semesters) 

iii) ND II Direct (ACC) Part Time 

iv) ND II Direct (BAM) Part Time

Entry Requirements: 

Five (5)"0" Level Credits in the relevant subjects plus a professional Diploma, NCE or University Diploma in two relevant disciplines 

Duration: 1 Year (Two Semesters) 

v) Diploma in Public Administration 

vi) Diploma in Computer Science 

Entry Requirements: 

Four (4) "0" Level Credits in the relevant subjects both (v) and (vi) above

Duration: 2 Years (Four Semesters) 

Entry Requirements: Same (vii) above

METHOD OF APPLICATION: 

Application forms in respect of programmes in 1.0 - 4.0 are obtainable from any Eco Bank branches in Nigeria upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of One Thousand Naira only (N1,000:00).

Note:

1. Candidates applying for HND Programmes should request their former institutions to forward their Academic Transcripts to the Registrar, Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda to facilitate their Admission/Registration. They are to also include evidence of completion of one year Industrial Training. 
2. All Applications must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar (Academics) not later than 6th November, 2020.
