The School of Biomedical Engineering Technology, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the 2025/2026 academic session. Available programmes include:

• Higher National Diploma (HND)
• National Diploma (ND)
• One-Year Certification Programme

Admission Requirements

Higher National Diploma (HND) 
Applicants must possess:

• A National Diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of Lower Credit.
• One-year industrial attachment from a well-recognized hospital or health institution.

National Diploma (ND) & Certificate Programme 
Applicants must have:

• A minimum of five credit-level passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and a pass in English Language at not more than two sittings.
• Credit or ordinary pass in any of the following subjects will be an added advantage: Woodwork, Metalwork, Mechanics, Basic Electronics, Basic Electricity, and Technical Drawing.
• A minimum UTME score of 100 in relevant subject combinations for National Diploma.

Mode of Application

Higher National Diploma (HND)

• Candidates should visit hnd.nbte.gov.ng to apply.

National Diploma (ND)

• Candidate’s first choice must be the School of Biomedical Engineering Technology, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
• Candidate must ensure that their O'level result is uploaded on JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).

Certificate Programme

• Candidates must undergo an aptitude test.

Screening Details

• Screening for National Diploma will commence from 22nd to 30th September 2025.
• A screening fee of N2,000 should be paid into the UMTH REMITA platform under “UMTH SCHOOLS ACCOUNT.”
• Candidates must present both original and photocopy of evidence of payment during screening.
• Candidates should also come with original and photocopy of their JAMB slip and WAEC/NECO results.
