The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) UNTH Congress Reverses Self, Retracts Newspaper Publications, Withdraws apology to CMD and insists on forging ahead with her petition against the deputy director of finance, Mr Chukwu Onuchukwu to anti graft agencies

The ARD UNTH Congress in her Emergency Meeting on 2nd April, 2019 has resolved to reverse the previous decision taken on her well publicised Ordinary General Meeting on 27 February, 2019 that met Constitutional requirement to offer an open apology to CMD UNTH and withdraw the petition against the DDF, Mr. Chukwudi Onuchukwu, to antigraft agencies, on the basis that the petition was baseless and vindictive.

The resolution of the Emergency General Meeting held on 2nd April 2019 at ARD Common Room UNTH, Ituku-Ozalla Enugu are as follows:

(1) That the association should retract her publication in The Guardian newspaper, Daily Sun newspaper and other press media where she offered an open apology to the CMD, UNTH and withdrew the petition against DDF, UNTH to ant-igraft agencies.

(2) That the association should sustain her petition against the DDF, Mr. Chukwudi Onuchukwu, who is now Director of Finance and Accounts, UNTH to anti-graft agencies because the petition has merit.

The emergency congress based her decision on the reason that the majority of her members were either taken unawares or were not present in her first statutory Ordinary General Meeting on 27th February 2019 where the previous decision was taken.

The Congress hereby retracts the content of her publication in Guardian Newspaper on 21st March, 2019, Daily Sun on 26th March, 2019 and in any other press media on the subject matter in its entirety based on the majority decision in her emergency meeting on 2nd April, 2019.

Dr Akponye Solomon
