Responsibilities

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is expected to practice absolute safe procedure. 
His/Her specific duties may include but are not limited to: ï‚· 
Ability to effectively operate sonographic equipment. ï‚· 
Ability to evaluate sonograms in order to acquire appropriate diagnostic information. ï‚· 
Ability to integrate diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, patient history and medical records, and adapt sonographic examination as necessary. ï‚· 
Ability to use independent judgment to acquire the optimum diagnostic sonographic information in each examination performed. ï‚· 
Ability to evaluate, synthesize, and communicate diagnostic information to the attending physician. ï‚· 
Ability to communicate effectively with the patient and the health care team, recognizing the special nature of sonographic examinations and patient’s needs. ï‚· 
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and health care team. ï‚· 
Ability to follow established departmental procedures. ï‚· 
Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations. ï‚· 
Cleans and disinfects patient rooms ï‚· 
Follow infection control and safety guidelines

REQUIREMENT AND SKILLS
The candidates must have at least a year post NYSC practising experience. 
must be between 24-35 years. 
Must be registered with the Association of Medical Ultrasound Practitional of Nigeria (AMUPN) and any other Associated Governing Body; i.e (ARN), (RRBN) 
Must possess a current practising Licence.
