1. Assistant Lecturer/Pharmacist
The first professional degree such as
(i) MBBS, BDS
(ii) B.Pharm.
(iii) BNSc Nursing
(iv) Professional registration in addition to (i) (iii)
2. Lecturer II
a. As in (i) above plus a minimum of
three (3) years cognate teaching experience
b. As in (i) above plus a Masters degree
c. Pharm. D plus professional registration
3. Lecturer I
a. MBBS, plus possession of the final or part II of the relevant fellowship certificate. For Pharmacist, Masters degree and Pharm d. plus professional registration.
b. Ph.D plus professional registration.
4. Senior Lecturer, Reader and Professor
As in Lecturer I (a) and (b) above plus propriate number of scholarly publications as evidence of good research ability plus three (3) years residency at each level.
5. Senior Lecturer (as applicable to medical staff)
a. MBBS plus possession of the final or Part II of the relevant fellowship certificate e.g. FNMC/Feliow of Nigeria or West African Medical College and preferably a Ph.D from a recognized university plus eight (8) foreign index journal articles of which six (6) must be in print.
b. Ph.D plus a registration with eight (8) foreign index journal articles out of which six (6) must be in print.
QUALIFICATION FOR TECHNOLOGIST/ TECHNICIAN CADRE
i. Higher Technical Officerl Technologist II
a. B.Sc/HND/HNC with NYSC
b.Full Technological Certificate or its equivalent registerable with relevant professional body, 3 years residency.
ii Senior Technical Officer/ Technologist I
a. As in (i) (a) above with 3 years working experience
b. As in (i) (b) above plus 6 years relevant experience
iii. Principal Technical Officer I/Principal Technologist
a. As in (i) (a) above with 3 years appropriate body with 9 years post registration experience

i. Higher Medical Laboratory Technician
a. Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology plus 3 years registration experience with the Institute of Laboratory Technology of Nigeria
QUALIFICATION FOR CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR (NURSING)
i. Clinical Instructor
a. NRN & RM with at least 2 years of General and Specialized Nursing experience OR
b. BNSc degree and NYSC plus Registration and 2 years post qualification experience
