The Executive Members of the Nigeria Physiotherapy Association has paid a Courtesy Visit to the Registrar/CEO of the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board.
Speaking during the visit, the NPTA President Proffesor Rufus Adedoyin noted that the NPTA came up as a need to maintain professionalism, ethics and integrity and to also redeem what may have been lost. He added that 'If you have been following social media, you will know the mind of young Physiotherapists, only few elders still identify with NSP, I have received messages that even if I as the president should decide to return to NSP, they will not return with me. We are however not closing the door of negotiation and would work together with everyone to make physiotherapy better'

In response the Registrar/CEO of the board noted that 'I am not for or against any association. I also played host to NSP during their courtesy visit. We recognize associations that will stand as a united front to promote physiotherapy. We do not have the power to deny any association a registration, however, I desire for another meeting of all Physiotherapists in Nigeria for us all to chart a productive way forward. I appeal that whatever we can do ensure that the unity of our profession is not threatened, please let us all go back to ensure this.
