The university is seeking intelligent and Patriotic Nigerians of high academic and professional qualifications with impeccable character to be employed as academic staff who can provide the needed expertise to the students as well as promoting the university's vision in producing graduates of international standard in the following areas:
FACULTY OF BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES
a) Dept of physiology (professor, reader, senior lecturer, lecturer 1, lecturer 11)
b) Dept of Anatomy (professor, reader, senior lecturer, lecturer 1, lecturer 11)
c) Department of Biochemistry (professor, reader, senior lecturer, lecturer 1)
QUALIFICATIONS
Professor: Candidates seeking appointment as Professor must have a Doctorate degree in the relevant field and must have a minimum of 15 years’ teaching and research experience and must show evidence of contributions to knowledge in the form of several ground-breaking publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals and books published by reputable publishers. The candidates must also show evidence of academic leadership in the form of successfully supervised postgraduate’s theses, and some administrative experience. Candidates who already hold chairs of other Nigerian Universities will have an advantage.
Reader: Candidates seeking appointment as Reader must hold a Doctorate degree in the relevant field and must have a minimum of 12 years’ teaching and research experience and evidence of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals and books published by reputable publishers. The candidates must also show evidence of having published several articles in national or international peer – reviewed journals.
Senior Lecturer: Candidates seeking appointment as Senior Lecturer must hold a Doctorate degree in the relevant field and possess a minimum of 8 years’ teaching and research experience. The candidates must also show evidence of having published several articles in national or international peer – reviewed journals.
Lecturer I: Candidates seeking appointment as Lecturer I must hold the Doctorate in the relevant field or show evidence of having made substantial progress towards completing their doctorial theses in addition to having a minimum of five years’ teaching and research experience and some scholarly publications.
Lecturer II: Candidates seeking appointment as Lecturer II must possess a very good or excellent first degree and good Master’s degree in the relevant field in addition to having a minimum of two years’ teaching experience. Candidates who possess the Doctorate degree are eligible for appointment to a Lectureship without any previous teaching experience.
