APRIL 2015 PRIMARY, MEMBERSHIP & FELLOWSHIP EXAMINATIONS 
The April 2015 Fellowship Examinations of the West African College of Physicians (WACP), will be held at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan Nigeria and at Korie-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) Accra. Ghana. THE PRIMARY EXAMINATION WILL HOLD IN SEVEN CENTRES: University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, National Orthopaedic Hospital (NOH) Main Hall, Enugu, Ahmadu Belloe University Main Campus, UMARU SHEHU Lecture Theatre, Samaru Zaria, Korie-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH), UGM Examination Hall, Accra, Ghana, Connaughth Teaching Hospital, Freetown, Sierra Leone, Edward Francis Smaill Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) Banjul, The Gambia and A.M Dogliottii College of Medicine Auditorium, Monrovia Liberia as follows
 
9th - 14th April, 2015 - Theory Papers/ Clinicals/Practicals/Orals of all Faculties of the West African College of Physicans
 
16th April, 2015 - (Clinicals Accra candidates)
 
The Postgraduate Fellowship of the College is recongnized by member countries of the West African Health Organisation (WAHO) for appointment of Doctors of Consultant positions.
 
Requirements 
. Candidates applying to sit for the Pimary Fellowship Examinations must be Medical Practitioners who are FULLY registered in Cote D'Ivore, The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal Leone and Republie of Benin.
 
Membership Examinations MWACP candidates must have passed the Primary Examination of the West African College of physicians or its equivalent and subsequently satisfactorily completed two years residency training programme as prescribed by the relevant Facault. Copies of Physician in training letter and Exemption Letter are to be submitted along with your application. Candidates must have registered for Phusician in Training immediately on passing Primary and on entering into a training programme in an accredited institution. Physician in Training fee is N32, 000. 00 OR $190.
 
Fellowship Examination candidates must have passed the membership Examination of WACP and satisfatorily completed the appropriate years of training in an accredited institution. Further details are available in the Prospectus of the College. The College prospectus is available for sale at the College Secretariat. Subspecialty training fee is N66, 000 or $385 and MUST BE PAID DURING TRAINING AND NOR DURING APPLICATION PROCESSING otherwise candidate shall be disqualified.
 
EXAMINATION FEE
1.  Primary Examination   $300    or      N51,000.00
2.  Membership            $400    or      N68,000.00
3.  Fellowship            $600    or      N102,000.00
4.  Subspecialty          $800    or      N136,000.00
 
 
Additional Practical Examination Fee of N15,00 OR $85 is payable by Membership and Fellowship candidates in Laboratory Medicine, and Membership candidates in Community Health. THIS IS PAYABLE ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION FORM, OTHERWISE THE APPLICATION STATES DISQUALIFIED.
Assessor's fee for Fellowship candidate's Case Book/Dissertation for the College is N21, 500 OR $130 paid into College GTB account number 0028724798. Four copies of Dissertation and or case books must be SUBMITTED along with two copies of the approved proposals. All to be saved inside CD rewritable.
Candidates should collect their corrected dissertations or casebooks and examiner's comments immediately after the examination 
 
MODE OF PAYMENTS
The Fees are payable to the WEST AFRICAN COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS' (WACP) account in GUARANTY TRUST BANK country wide. Account No.0028724798 original copy of TELLER to be attached with the application forms to the College while candidates are advised to keep a photocopy. BANK DRAFTS ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE FOR EXAMINATION APPLICATION. PLEASE NOTE THAT NO CASE WILL BE ACCEPTED. Membership candidates must include evidence of having passed Primary and fulfilled the requirement of Physician in Training.
 
The College shall bear no responsibility for wrongly addressed payments into any other accounts. No refund will be entertained.
 
APPLICATION
a. Attendance of Mandatory Course in Medical Ethics and Revision/Update courses of the College are prerequisites for sitting membership Examinations. Anticipated attendance/submission of certificates shall be disqualified.
b. Current application forms are available at the WACP Secretariat or their liaison offices, or can also be downloaded and printed from www.wac-physicians.org. Candidates are advised to download and use the current application form from the College website; otherwise, their APPLICATIONS will not be processed.
Evidence of attendance at Revision/Update Courses must be attached. candidates for the Membership or Fellowship Examinations wil be expected to submit a photocopy of their completed log books. The original should be brought to the examination hall. Two (2) copies of Autopsy book are mandatory for all Membership candidates in Laboratory Medicine.
c. Submitting altered, falsified or incomplete documents to the West African College of Physicians may be a sufficient cause for the College to ban you from an examination, to terminate your participation in an examination, to withhold and/or invalidate the results of an examination, to withhold award of the Fellowship of the Colege, to withhold a certificate, to revoke a certificate, or to take other appropriate action. The WACPS will report findings of irregular behaviour to the Medical & Dental Council of the country where the candidates practices, to otjer Postgraduate Medical Colleges in the West Africa Region and to any other organization or individual who, in the judgement of the WACP, ha a legitimate interest in such information.
d. Code of conduct including dress code for the candidates shall be strictly enforced. The College has zero-tolerance policy to examination malpractices.
e. Cases of change of examination centre after submission of application form shall no longer be entertained.
f. Cases of request for change of faculty after submission of application form shall not be entertained
 
DEFEREMENT OF EXAMINATION AFTER APPLICATION IS NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE 
. All application forms must be accompanied with "CURRENT DOCUMENTS INCLUDED CONTROL FORM" which could be downloaded from the website along with the application form.
AND MUST APPEND THEIR FORMAL SIGNATURE IN THE SPACE PROVIDED ON THE APPLICATION FORM.
. Candidates are advided to send application forms through RELIABLE courier service.
. Candidates in the THIRD Trimester of pregnancy OR in the EARLY Postnatal Period may Not apply.
 
Note: For membership examinations in all faculties of the West African College of physicians, only candidates who have performed satisfactorily in the theory papers would be allowed to proceed with the rest of the examinations.
 
CLOSING DATE:
The closing date for the submission of completed application forms is Monday 12th January 2015. Candidates for the Fellowship Examination must have submitted their dissertations or case books by the closing date. Lateness in submission of approved dissertation with not be entertained.
 
PENALTY FOR THE LATE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS IS N34,000.00 OR $200 for one week and N68,000:00 OR $400 THEREAFTER for the second week.
 
CANDIDATE STANDS DISQUALIFIED ONCE HE/SHE DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENT OF THE COLLEGE WITHOUT OPTIONS TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM AFTER VETTING OF APPLICATION FORM. 
ALL COMPLETED Application forms must be submitted with:
1. Certificate of FULL registration with the Medical Council of the country (for Primary candidates alone).
2. Examination fee (original teller) Primary/Membership/Fellowship as indicated above.
3. Relevant certificates and a copy of completed Log Book and two (2) Autopsy books for Lab Med candidates.
4. Evidence of traning since passing Primary and Membership Examinations 
5. Three (3) Stamped Self addressed envelopes with N150 stamp on each.

7. All Fellowship candidates should make the following payments.

b. Annual dues for Membership $80 or N14,000.00 (College GTB account numb 0000528491)
8.  It is optional for all Laboratory Medicine Membership candidates to use personal microscope as may be required.
